Impact of Suboxone Abuse in the Opiate Maintenance Treatment

This article examines the impact of heroin treatment suboxone. Patients who cycled in and out of Suboxone therapy were interviewed in ethnographic interviews. The goal is to find out what techniques people use opiates/opioids occasionally while on Suboxone therapy. Many patients propose that they manage their opiate/opioid addiction by using Suboxone and heroin to prevent withdrawal and continue using opiates/opioids. You want to look into the factors that influence the serial discontinuation and resumption of Suboxone therapy and the strategies people use. Answering the following questions will assist in elucidating this phenomenon:

(1) Are there socio-pharmacological mechanisms that lead to Suboxone treatment discontinuation and resumption?

(2) Is Suboxone therapy used by some recovered addicts to keep their illegal drug usage going?

(3) What role do addiction culture and street drug pharmacology have in treatment discontinuation and resumption?
